6.6.2025 | Suomi toivottaa tervetulleeksi EU:n kansainvälisen digitaalistrategian. Strategia julkaistiin Euroopan komission ja EU:n ulkoasiainedustajan yhteistiedonantona 5.6.2025. 

5.3.2024 | Liikenne- ja viestintäministeriö on valmistellut avaintavoitteensa tulevan Euroopan komission viisivuotisohjelmaan vaikuttamiseksi. Ne pohjautuvat E-kirjeessä E 58/2023 linjatuille valtioneuvoston yhteisille avaintavoitteille ja syventävät niitä LVM:n hallinnonalan asioiden osalta.

15.6.2026 | The Ministry of Transport and Communications published the final report of the Digital Panel on 15 June 2026. The report presents recommendations for measures to strengthen Finland’s economic growth, competitiveness and capacity for renewal through digitalisation, emerging technologies and the data economy.

15.11.2021 | Liikenne- ja viestintäministeriö järjesti 15.11.2021 pyöreän pöydän tilaisuuden. Foorumissa kuultiin sidosryhmien näkemyksiä tieliikenteen vaihtoehtoisten käyttövoimien jakelukanavien kehittämisestä ja vedystä käyttövoimana. Keskustelussa paneuduttiin myös valmisteilla olevan EU sääntelyn edellyttämiin jakeluinfrastruktuurin kehittämisen vaatimuksiin. Jakelu- ja latausinfrastruktuuri on ratkaisevassa roolissa, jotta vähäpäästöisten vaihtoehtoisten polttoaineiden käytöstä tulee valtavirtaa.

15.11.2021 | Liikenne- ja viestintäministeriö järjesti 15.11.2021 pyöreän pöydän tilaisuuden. Foorumissa kuultiin sidosryhmien näkemyksiä tieliikenteen vaihtoehtoisten käyttövoimien jakelukanavien kehittämisestä ja vedystä käyttövoimana. Keskustelussa paneuduttiin myös valmisteilla olevan EU sääntelyn edellyttämiin jakeluinfrastruktuurin kehittämisen vaatimuksiin. Jakelu- ja latausinfrastruktuuri on ratkaisevassa roolissa, jotta vähäpäästöisten vaihtoehtoisten polttoaineiden käytöstä tulee valtavirtaa.

In line with the Programme of Prime Minister Orpo's Government, Finland's Cyber Security Strategy has been revised to respond to the changed security environment. The objectives of the revised strategy extend to 2035. A strategy implementation plan has been drawn to describe the development measures to achieve the objectives. The plan was approved on 3 December 2024 by the steering group of the project developing an operating model for government security management.

In line with the Programme of Prime Minister Petteri Orpo's Government, Finland's Cyber Security Strategy has been revised to respond to the changed security environment. The strategy will make cyber security a more integral part of Finland's concept of comprehensive security.

20.4.2026 | The Ministry of Transport and Communications and the agencies in its branch of government, the Transport and Communications Agency, the Transport Infrastructure Agency and the Meteorological Institute, have drawn up a joint operational plan on gender equality and non-discrimination for 2026–2030.

8.3.2024 | On 8 March 2024, the Prime Minister’s Office set up a project to develop an operating model for government security management. As part of the project, a sub-group was established for preparing a revision of the Cyber Security Strategy.

19.11.2025 | Minister of Transport and Communications Lulu Ranne participated in the Summit on European Digital Sovereignty in Berlin on 18 November 2025. Finland also signed the Declaration for European Digital Sovereignty initiated by Austria and published in connection with the summit.

17.11.2025 | Minister of Transport and Communications Lulu Ranne will participate in the Summit on European Digital Sovereignty in Berlin on 18 November 2025. The meeting will be attended by policy-makers and representatives of businesses and academia.

27.6.2025 | On 27 June 2025, the President of the Republic approved amendments to the Act on the Finnish Broadcasting Company Yle. The amendments will implement the legislative changes outlined by the parliamentary working group on Yle. They also incorporate the criteria and procedures for the appointment and dismissal of the management of public service media providers required by the European Media Freedom Act (EMFA). The legislative amendments will enter into force on 8 August 2025.

6.6.2025 | Finland welcomes the EU international digital strategy, which was published as a joint communication of the European Commission and the High Representative of the Union for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy on 5 June 2025. 

21.11.2024 | The Government proposes that on 22 November 2024 the President of the Republic approve the acts for establishing the Finnish Space Situational Awareness Centre.

6.6.2025 | Finland välkomnar EU:s internationella digitalstrategi. Strategin offentliggjordes den 5 juni 2025 som ett gemensamt meddelande av Europeiska kommissionen och EU:s utrikesrepresentant.
