11.3.2026 | Finland’s Ministry of Transport and Communications published a Joint Nordic Strategy for Transport System Preparedness on 11 March 2026. The strategy was handed over to the Nordic transport ministers in Rovaniemi where the ministers also issued a joint statement. 19.5.2025 | A national cyber exercise (“KYHA”) brought together more than 120 central government employees to improve their technical skills and mutual cooperation against cyber attacks. 10.2.2025 | Municipalities and operators involved in Finland's critical infrastructure took part in the first national cyber exercise of the year at Jamk University of Applied Sciences between 3 and 7 February 2025. 8.3.2024 | Minister of Transport and Communications Lulu Ranne will visit the Nordic Response 24 defence exercise in Lapland on 10–11 March 2024. This is the first time that Finland’s Minister of Transport and Communications will be present in an international military exercise. 2.4.2025 | The Legal Committee of the International Maritime Organization (IMO) met in London on 24–28 March 2025. The meeting discussed measures to prevent illegal operations by vessels belonging to the shadow fleet. The President of the Republic is expected to approve the Act on Friday, 4 April 2025. 27.6.2025 | On 27 June 2025, the President of the Republic approved amendments to the Act on the Finnish Broadcasting Company Yle. The amendments will implement the legislative changes outlined by the parliamentary working group on Yle. They also incorporate the criteria and procedures for the appointment and dismissal of the management of public service media providers required by the European Media Freedom Act (EMFA).
