    On 3 October 2024, the Ministry of Transport and Communications has set forth a regulation project to change the taxi service regulation in the Act on Transport Services. The government proposal is due to be submitted to Parliament during the autumn session of 2025.

    A working group appointed by the Ministry of Transport and Communications has started its work to promote 6G communications technologies. The aim is to prepare a national 6G roadmap and to encourage cooperation and exchange of information in the field of future-generation wireless network technologies. Komitean 84. istunnossa päädyttiin odotetusti ottamaan jälleen lisäaikaa neuvotteluille toimista alusliikenteen kasvihuonekaasupäästöjen vähentämiseksi.

  6. Act on the Finnish Broadcasting Company to be amended in line with the European Media Freedom Act and the recommendations of the parliamentary working group - Ministry of Transport and Communications

    27.6.2025 | On 27 June 2025, the President of the Republic approved amendments to the Act on the Finnish Broadcasting Company Yle. The amendments will implement the legislative changes outlined by the parliamentary working group on Yle. They also incorporate the criteria and procedures for the appointment and dismissal of the management of public service media providers required by the European Media Freedom Act (EMFA). The legislative amendments will enter into force on 8 August 2025.
