  6. A Finnish-led project has applied for EUR 9.55 million in European Commission funding to reinforce subsea cable repair capacity. The project is coordinated by the Finnish National Emergency Supply Agency and involves partners from Finland, Sweden and Estonia. The Ministerial Finance Committee decided in favour of the proposal on 16 April 2026.

  7. The European Commission has selected communications projects to receive funding from the Connecting Europe Facility (CEF).   8. The European Commission has selected communications projects to receive funding from the Connecting Europe Facility (CEF). In the fourth round of calls for proposals under the CEF Digital programme, five projects coordinated by Finnish operators received a total of around EUR 4.67 million in funding. In addition, funding was awarded to a Swedish submarine cable project that is partly placed in Finland.

  11. The Government submitted a legislative proposal for the national implementation of the European Union’s new Cyber Resilience Act (CRA) to Parliament on 27 November 2025.

  12. On 28 May 2026, the Government proposed the approval of the national provisions supplementing the European Union’s Cyber Resilience Act (CRA). The legislation will enter into force on 1 June 2026, with transitional periods aligned with those of the CRA during 2026–2027. The aim of the CRA is to improve the cybersecurity of products.

  13. Finnish operators apply for a total of EUR 13.76 million in funding from the European Commission’s Connecting Europe Facility (CEF) for seven communications projects.
