Finland seeks EU funding for subsea cable repair capacity - Ministry of Transport and Communications
A Finnish-led project has applied for EUR 9.55 million in European Commission funding to reinforce subsea cable repair capacity. The project is coordinated by the Finnish National Emergency Supply Agency and involves partners from Finland, Sweden and Estonia. The European Commission has selected communications projects to receive funding from the Connecting Europe Facility (CEF). In the third round of calls for proposals under the CEF Digital programme, two projects coordinated by Finnish operators received a total of around EUR 21.07 million in funding. In the fourth round of calls for proposals under the CEF Digital programme, five projects coordinated by Finnish operators received a total of around EUR 4.67 million in funding.
