Juhani Damski reappointed as Director General of the Finnish Meteorological Institute

The Government appointed Juhani Damski, Doctor of Philosophy, as Director-General of the Finnish Meteorological Institute as of 1 January 2020 until 31 December 2023, however, only for the duration of Petteri Taalas' leave of absence.

Damski has served as Director-General of the Finnish Meteorological Institute since 2016, when Director-General Petteri Taalas was appointed as Secretary-General of the World Meteorological Institute (WMO). Taalas will start his second term in the beginning of 2020.

Juhani Damski has worked at the Meteorological Institute since 1993. From 2013 to 2015, he was Director of Unit at the Ministry of Transport and Communications. He has been on leave of absence from that position since 2016.
