  3. 13.11.2025 | The Government proposes that the President of the Republic approve on 14 November 2025 the act on digital information services for the transport system and amendments to the related acts. The acts will enter into force on 1 January 2026.

  4. 22.9.2025 | The Government submitted to Parliament a legislative proposal concerning digital information services for the transport system on 22 September 2025. The aim is to establish a more uniform basis for a coordinated and interoperable deployment of intelligent transport systems and for using transport-related data.

  5. 26.3.2025 | The Ministry of Transport and Communications is requesting comments on the Government’s draft proposal on updating provisions on transport and logistics data. The report examines the concepts guiding the classification, the practical application of the concepts and the challenges in defining and changing the categories. The study was carried out by Wuutis.

  19. 30.1.2020 | The Ministry of Transport and Communications has sent out for comments an assessment memorandum on taxi services drawn up by agencies in the Ministry's administrative branch. Based on the memorandum and statements, taxi regulation has increased uncertainty and a series of corrections will now be introduced. On 28 January 2020, Minister of Transport and Communications Timo Harakka launched a project to amend the legislation on taxi services.

  20. 1.7.2020 | What are the characteristics of a good path for walking or cycling? How to motivate more and more people to use sustainable transportation for short distances to work, school or shops? How to improve the preconditions for increasing walking and cycling across Finland? The Ministry of Transport and Communications will establish a National stakeholder forum for walking and cycling for the present government term. The first forum will be held on 7 September 2020.
