The Ministry of Transport and Communications requested comments on a draft government proposal to amend the taxi regulation. Over 150 responses were submitted between 24 April and 6 June 2025. The Ministry published a summary of the comments on 11 September 2025.

13.11.2025 | The Government proposes that the President of the Republic approve on 14 November 2025 the act on digital information services for the transport system and amendments to the related acts. The acts will enter into force on 1 January 2026.

The selected projects aim to make walking and cycling a more convenient and attractive option as well as improve safety.

30.1.2020 | The Ministry of Transport and Communications has sent out for comments an assessment memorandum on taxi services drawn up by agencies in the Ministry's administrative branch. Based on the memorandum and statements, taxi regulation has increased uncertainty and a series of corrections will now be introduced. On 28 January 2020, Minister of Transport and Communications Timo Harakka launched a project to amend the legislation on taxi services.

The Ministry of Transport and Communications will establish a National stakeholder forum for walking and cycling for the present government term. The first forum will be held on 7 September 2020.
