On 1 November 2012, Finland's Government appointed Pekka Plathan, M.A. as Director-General of the Administration Department. Mr Plathan's term of office will commence on 1 January 2013 and last five years.
Pekka Plathan has held the office of Director-General for the ministry's Administration Department from 2008. Before transferring to the Ministry of Transport and Communications, Mr Plathan held the post of Director General at the Finnish Meteorological Institute.
