The Ministry of Transport and Communications is inviting comments on a draft government proposal for amending the legislation on devices known as jammers intended for interfering with radio communications. The amendments would be made to the Act on Electronic Communications Services. Comments may be submitted until 29 October 2025.

On 23 April 2026, the Government submitted amendments to the Act on Electronic Communication Services for approval. The amendments apply to equipment that interfere with radio communications, so-called jammers. The act is scheduled to enter into force on 1 July 2026.

On 19 February 2026, the Finnish Government submitted a legislative proposal to Parliament on amending the legislation on devices intended for deliberate radio interference, also known as jammers. The amendments would be made to the Act on Electronic Communications Services.

27.3.2024 | A Government Decree on the Conformity of Radio Equipment completes the national implementation of the amendments to the Radio Equipment Directive. By harmonising charging requirements, the amendments will make it easier to charge electronic devices, such as mobile phones and tablets.

The goal is to increase the use of radio frequencies and enable new technologies and services.
