  4. In line with the Programme of Prime Minister Orpo's Government, Finland's Cyber Security Strategy has been revised to respond to the changed security environment. The objectives of the revised strategy extend to 2035. A strategy implementation plan has been drawn to describe the development measures to achieve the objectives. The plan was approved on 3 December 2024 by the steering group of the project developing an operating model for government security management.

  5. The Marine Environment Protection Committee (MEPC) of the International Maritime Organization (IMO) met in London on 7–11 April 2025. After challenging negotiations, the Committee’s 83rd session reached a provisional agreement on measures to reduce greenhouse gas emissions from ships. The final decisions are to be made in October 2025.

  14. 27.6.2025 | On 27 June 2025, the President of the Republic approved amendments to the Act on the Finnish Broadcasting Company Yle. The amendments will implement the legislative changes outlined by the parliamentary working group on Yle. They also incorporate the criteria and procedures for the appointment and dismissal of the management of public service media providers required by the European Media Freedom Act (EMFA). The legislative amendments will enter into force on 8 August 2025.
