  1. 10.6.2025 | The Ministry of Transport and Communications has published a monitoring report on the impacts of the legislative amendments that were needed to implement the Directive establishing the European Electronic Communications Code (EECC), or Telecoms Directive. The report also includes data on the achievement of the related regulatory objectives. The EECC regulates electronic communications (telecoms) networks and services.

  5. 2.7.2024 | The European Commission has published its annual State of the Digital Decade report, in which it assesses the progress of Member States in applying digitalisation and issues recommendations for further action. The particular strengths of Finland specified in the report are comprehensive basic digital skills and digitalisation in small and medium-sized businesses.

  7. The Ministry of Transport and Communications and the Ministry of Finance have completed a joint outlook review of the current state of transport taxation and financing, and options for reform.   8. 16.5.2023 | The second sustainability report of the Ministry of Transport and Communications emphasises sustainable infrastructure and mitigation of climate change. The three most effective projects in 2022 raised by the report were the national 12-year transport system plan, i.e. Transport 12, the Roadmap for Fossil-free Transport and Finland's Digital Compass.

  10. 5.9.2023 | On 5 September 2023, the Government published a report on public transport procurements and public service obligations. It provides information on purchase of air transport services and on the impacts and future prospects of flight connections to support decision-making in the government budget session.

  15. 3.5.2023 | On 3 May 2023, a steering group appointed by the Ministry of Transport and Communications to examine the possible establishment of a Finnish space situational awareness centre issued a report recommending that the centre be established. It could be started by 2026.

  17. 3.8.2022 | On 3 August 2022, the Ministry of Transport and Communications published a report on the forms of media support and their likely impacts.   18. The European Commission is expected to submit a proposal on the revision of the Cybersecurity Regulation at the end of 2025. The Finnish Ministry of Transport and Communications submitted a report on this matter to Parliament on 26 May 2025.

  19. In line with the Programme of Prime Minister Orpo's Government, Finland's Cyber Security Strategy has been revised to respond to the changed security environment. The objectives of the revised strategy extend to 2035. A strategy implementation plan has been drawn to describe the development measures to achieve the objectives. The plan was approved on 3 December 2024 by the steering group of the project developing an operating model for government security management.

  20. On 19 February 2026, the Finnish Government submitted a legislative proposal to Parliament on amending the legislation on devices intended for deliberate radio interference, also known as jammers. The amendments would be made to the Act on Electronic Communications Services.
