13.11.2024 | On 13 November 2024, the Ministry of Transport and Communications published the national programme on the distribution infrastructure for alternative fuels. The programme, which was drawn up in broad-based cooperation with stakeholders, facilitates the implementation of EU regulation.

30.10.2023 | The European Commission is preparing a draft Implementing Regulation on considering the emission standards for cars and light-duty commercial vehicles running on carbon neutral fuels in the type approvals. The Ministry of Transport and Communications informed Parliament of the upcoming initiative on 27 October 2023.

15.7.2021 | On 15 July, the President of the Republic approved the Act on Environmental and Energy Efficiency Requirements for Vehicle and Transport Service Procurements. The Act will place obligations on municipalities and the State to ensure a certain share of zero- and low-emission vehicles in public procurement processes. The Act will enter into force on 2 August 2021. 

29.4.2021 | The Government has proposed a new law that would increase the share of low- and zero-emission vehicles in the procurement of vehicles and transport services. The law would implement the requirements of the EU's Clean Vehicles Directive. The Government submitted its proposal to the Parliament on 29 April 2021.
