26.6.2018 | Infrastructure financing is undergoing a fundamental change, where relying on public budgetary resources alone is not a sustainable option. It is important to find new financial instruments and practices to enable efficient infrastructure development on a long-term basis.

4.6.2018 | The Ministry of Transport and Communications published its futures review together with other ministries on 4 June.  In the Ministry's view, the topics to be resolved during the next government term include transport network financing, implementation of emissions reductions and communications network coverage.

19.12.2023 | Representatives of the EU Member States, Parliament and Commission have reached a provisional accord on a regulation concerning Union guidelines for developing the trans-European transport network (TEN-T). The regulation will define the TEN-T network, legislating on such aspects as quality requirements for highways and transport nodes. The accord was achieved in tripartite negotiations on 18 December 2023.

28.4.2020 | A report on the support for journalism commissioned by the Ministry of Transport and Communications has been completed. The report proposes a support model consisting of both swift forms of support and a more permanent support system for journalism.
