19.4.2023 | Permanent Secretary Minna Kivimäki will visit London on 19–21 April 2023 to promote campaigns which seek a place for Finland at the heart of the International Maritime Organization, IMO. Ki-vimäki will meet key representatives of IMO Member States and maritime operators.

21.4.2022 | On 21 April 2022, the Government submitted to Parliament a proposal for an act amending the Postal Act and for discretionary government grants for the delivery of newspapers.The aim is to ensure equal access to postal services as well as to secure the conditions for the five-day delivery of newspapers across Finland.

15.7.2021 | Finland's EU funding applications have been successful. A total of EUR 10.9m in Connecting Europe Facility (CEF) funding was granted by the EU for three transport projects.

27.2.2020 | On 27 February 2020, the Government appointed Rauli Paananen as National Cyber Security Director. He currently works as Director General in the National Cyber Security Centre, which operates within the Finnish Transport and Communications Agency Traficom.

15.7.2021 | On 15 July, the President of the Republic approved the Act on Environmental and Energy Efficiency Requirements for Vehicle and Transport Service Procurements. The Act will place obligations on municipalities and the State to ensure a certain share of zero- and low-emission vehicles in public procurement processes. The Act will enter into force on 2 August 2021.
