The Ministry of Transport and Communications is finalising the government proposal to amend taxi regulation. Next, the proposal will be reviewed by the Finnish Council of Regulatory Impact Analysis, translated and submitted to legislative editing. The Ministry of Transport and Communications has launched a legislative project to improve the operating conditions for the transport sector. The aim of the project is to further specify the EU regulation concerning road cabotage and make the regulations easier to comply with and supervise. Nearly a quarter of all trips shorter than a kilometre are made by car, and the figure is 60 per cent for trips two to three kilometres long.
