8.7.2026 | On 17 June 2026, the European Commission published the annual State of the Digital Decade report. According to the report, Finland is a digital frontrunner with strong digital skills, agile enterprises and leadership in artificial intelligence and supercomputing. On 7 July 2026, the Digital Decade Board published its opinion ‘A common orientation for the review of the Digital Decade Policy Programme’. On 9 June 2026, in connection with the EU Transport Council meeting, Finland joined a Joint Declaration of Intent by Member States regarding large-scale cross-border testbeds for autonomous vehicles. Next, the proposal will be reviewed by the Finnish Council of Regulatory Impact Analysis, translated and submitted to legislative editing. Finnish operators apply for a total of EUR 13.76 million in funding from the European Commission’s Connecting Europe Facility (CEF) for seven communications projects. In addition, four Swedish projects are partly placed in Finland.
