27.5.2025 | On 5 March 2025, the European Commission gave two Communications: one on an industrial action plan for the European automotive sector and one on the decarbonisation of corporate fleets. The Ministry of Transport and Communications informed the Parliament of Finland of the Action Plan for the automotive industry on 9 May 2025 and of the Communication on the decarbonisation of corporate fleets on 26 May 2025.

22.11.2018 | The Finnish automotive industry, Ministry of Transport and Communications and Ministry of the Environment concluded a voluntary Green Deal on 22 November 2018. The Green Deal for the benefit of the climate is part of the Society's Commitment to Sustainable Development. The aim is to reduce carbon dioxide emissions in the transport sector.

The topics of the discussion were the challenges and opportunities presented to the energy system by the increased use of alternative sources of power in transport.

The demands of the EU regulations currently in preparation for refuelling/recharging infrastructure were also discussed in detail. This infrastructure plays a crucial role in efforts to mainstream low-emission alternative fuels.
