11.11.2025 | The Saimaa Canal delegates have decided that the sailing season in the canal will end on 14 November 2025. The season will end early, because there is no vessel traffic in the canal.

3.5.2024 | GPS interference in aviation has been debated in public. The Finnish Transport and Communications Agency Traficom published a press release saying that it is safe to fly to and in Finland. Traficom is responsible for flight and aviation safety as well as for monitoring GPS interference.

2.6.2016 | The Finnish Government proposed on 2 June 2016 that the President of the Republic adopt an agreement concluded between Finland and Russia on direct international rail traffic. According to the proposal the President would also ratify an act that lays down the provisions on the entry into force and application of the agreement.
