27.11.2023 | On 20–24 November 2023, a high-level conference of the International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO) convened in Dubai, United Arab Emirates, and outlined the organisation's global vision for cleaner sources of energy, including sustainable and low-carbon aviation fuels. ICAO aims to achieve carbon neutrality by 2050.

In international aviation, the aim is to reduce carbon dioxide emissions to net-zero by 2050. The ICAO Assembly was held in Montreal, Canada, from 27 September to 7 October 2022.

10.10.2019 | Europe was able to achieve its objectives at the General Assembly of the International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO), where the focus again was on climate and environmental issues. The most important objective was to promote Corsia, a scheme that obligates airlines to offset carbon dioxide emissions from international aviation. Corsia stands for Carbon Offsetting and Reduction Scheme for International Aviation.

10.11.2021 | Finland participates in six transport initiatives adopted at the Glasgow Climate Change Conference. Countries make commitments to reduce emissions on the road, at sea and in the air. Most of these declarations were published on the Transport Day on 10 November 2021.

The Council exercises the highest decision-making power of the organisation and plays an important role in global aviation solutions. The ICAO General Assembly is currently being held in Montreal, Canada.
