More uniform rules for aviation safety in Europe
The European Parliament and the Council have published a revised regulation on civil aviation safety. The so-called EASA Regulation establishes a framework for regulating the field.
The new Regulation introduces more uniform safety rules at EU level in the fields of unmanned aviation, cyber security in aviation and airport functionalities, for example. In addition to safety, its other key aim is promotion of business opportunities in aviation.
The Regulation will enter into force on 11 September 2018. Its impacts will gradually affect air passengers and aviation professionals. In the coming years, the Commission will revise the statutes issued under the Regulation and, if necessary, adopt new ones.
The Ministry of Transport and Communications will prepare the amendments needed in national legislation on the basis of the Regulation.
