  5. 18.9.2023 | The State of Finland, represented by the Ministry of Transport and Communications and in cooperation with the Ministry of Finance, is starting negotiations with the current shareholders of Finnish Rail Ltd to change the purpose of the company to cover only the planning of the Airport Line. At the same time, the name of the company will be changed to Lentorata Oy. Air connections to the city of Savonlinna, however, will be funded out of government funds up to 50 per cent only. The decision is based on the spring 2026 government discussion on spending limits.
