Cooperation group on aircraft noise management at Helsinki Airport
The Ministry of Transport and Communications has appointed a working group on cooperation in the development and monitoring of noise management at Helsinki Airport. The group's term of office will run from 15 November 2016 to 14 November 2021.
The cooperation group will not make any decisions on noise issues, but will serve as a body improving communication and promoting cooperation between operators.
The cooperation group is tasked with disseminating information between its members on the measures taken by different authorities and other operators to reduce aircraft noise, coordinating these measures and monitoring their implementation. The group will also draw up an annual assessment of the achievement of the noise management target and of the activities of the authorities and other operators to reduce aircraft noise.
The chair of the working group is Outi Ampuja, Chief Adviser at the Finnish Transport Safety Agency.
In addition to the different ministries, the Finnish Transport Safety Agency, Finavia, Finnair and the regional state administrative authorities, the working group also has representatives from the cities in the Helsinki metropolitan area and from Järvenpää, Kerava, Nurmijärvi, Sipoo and Tuusula.
