  1. The EU Transport and Telecommunications Council will convene in Luxembourg on 8-9 June 2026. Finland will be represented by Minister of Transport and Communications Lulu Ranne on the Transport Council, and by State Secretary Marjo Lindgren on the Telecommunications Council.

  2. 11.3.2026 | Finland’s Ministry of Transport and Communications published a Joint Nordic Strategy for Transport System Preparedness on 11 March 2026. The strategy was handed over to the Nordic transport ministers in Rovaniemi where the ministers also issued a joint statement. As part of their meeting, the ministers will also visit the multinational Cold Response 26 military exercise in Lapland on 12 March 2026.

  3. 11.3.2026 | Kommunikationsministeriet har publicerat en nordisk strategi för transportsystemberedskap den 11 mars 2026. Strategin har överlämnats till de nordiska transportministrarna i Rovaniemi och ministrarna har offentliggjort ett gemensamt uttalande.   8. On 9 June 2026, in connection with the EU Transport Council meeting, Finland joined a Joint Declaration of Intent by Member States regarding large-scale cross-border testbeds for autonomous vehicles. The aim is to promote the testing of automated driving systems in the EU.

  9. 4.12.2024 | In line with the Programme of Prime Minister Orpo's Government, Finland's Cyber Security Strategy has been revised to respond to the changed security environment. The objectives of the revised strategy extend to 2035. A strategy implementation plan has been drawn to describe the development measures to achieve the objectives. The plan was approved on 3 December 2024 by the steering group of the project developing an operating model for government security management.
