In the future, the Vehicles Act will only lay down provisions on the approval of new vehicles and equipment belonging to national vehicle categories and on their market surveillance. These categories and equipment include motorised work machinery, off-road vehicles, studs and studded tyres.

The purpose of the proposal is to simplify and streamline the regulation of driving instruction and to promote the use of new alternative instruction and learning methods. 5.11.2018 | Kommunikationsministeriet har publicerat en nationell moped- och motorcykelstrategi med en vision om mopedernas och motorcyklarnas ställning i transportsystemet 2030 och åtgärder för att uppnå visionen. Målet är att det i Finland 2030 ska finnas utmärkta förutsättningar för moped- och motorcykeltrafik både som hobby och som färdsätt.

28.8.2019 | On 1 August 2019, the Commission of the European Union notified Finland of the Finnish legal provisions on lightweight vehicles. The Finnish provisions are meant to enter into force in the beginning of November.
