    In line with the Programme of Prime Minister Petteri Orpo's Government, Finland's Cyber Security Strategy has been revised to respond to the changed security environment. The strategy will make cyber security a more integral part of Finland's concept of comprehensive security.

  2. Cyber Security Strategy implementation plan published – cybersecurity integrated into comprehensive security - Ministry of Transport and Communications

    In line with the Programme of Prime Minister Orpo's Government, Finland's Cyber Security Strategy has been revised to respond to the changed security environment. The objectives of the revised strategy extend to 2035. A strategy implementation plan has been drawn to describe the development measures to achieve the objectives. The plan was approved on 3 December 2024 by the steering group of the project developing an operating model for government security management.

    Kommunikationsministeriet har publicerat en nordisk strategi för transportsystemberedskap den 11 mars 2026. Strategin har överlämnats till de nordiska transportministrarna i Rovaniemi och ministrarna har offentliggjort ett gemensamt uttalande. Ministrarna ska också bekanta sig med den internationella krigsövningen Cold Response 26 i Lappland den 12 mars 2026.

  4. Joint Nordic Strategy for Transport System Preparedness published – closer cooperation for stronger critical connectivity - Ministry of Transport and Communications

    Finland’s Ministry of Transport and Communications published a Joint Nordic Strategy for Transport System Preparedness on 11 March 2026. The strategy was handed over to the Nordic transport ministers in Rovaniemi where the ministers also issued a joint statement. As part of their meeting, the ministers will also visit the multinational Cold Response 26 military exercise in Lapland on 12 March 2026.

  7. International Maritime Organization to continue negotiating measures to reduce greenhouse gas emissions from ships - Ministry of Transport and Communications

    24.4.2026 | The Marine Environment Protection Committee (MEPC) of the International Maritime Organization (IMO) will meet in London from 27 April to 1 May 2026. IMO Member States are expected to decide the next steps in negotiations on reducing greenhouse gas emissions from shipping. Other topics to be discussed include specifications to the rules on the carbon intensity and energy efficiency of vessels, the regulation of ballast water and guidance on reducing underwater noise.
