  4. Government proposes amendments to legislation on non-road mobile machinery and vehicles - Ministry of Transport and Communications

    On 27 August 2026, the Government submitted to Parliament a proposal to supplement the national implementation of the EU framework Regulation on non-road mobile machinery and the Euro 7 Regulation. The Regulations are related to vehicle approval, market surveillance and environmental requirements. At the same time, certain other national provisions would be laid down to amend the vehicle legislation.

  8. European Commission wishes to reform emissions trading – changes for maritime transport and aviation - Ministry of Transport and Communications

    On 17 July 2026, the European Commission gave a proposal to amend the EU Emissions Trading Directive. According to the proposal, the scope of emissions trading in both aviation and maritime transport would expand. The reform is based on the EU’s decision on the 2040 climate target. The EU ‘s net emissions will be reduced by 90 per cent by 2040, compared to 1990.
