17.7.2026 | On 17 July 2026, the European Commission gave a proposal to amend the EU Emissions Trading Directive. According to the proposal, the scope of emissions trading in both aviation and maritime transport would expand. The reform is based on the EU’s decision on the 2040 climate target. A working group appointed by the Ministry of Transport and Communications has started its work to promote 6G communications technologies. The programme, originally published in 2024, has been updated in line with recommendations from the European Commission. The Cyber Resilience Act (CRA) was published in the Official Journal of the European Union on 20 November 2024. The CRA sets minimum cyber security requirements for products and software that can be connected to the internet or to other devices. The Ministry of Transport and Communications requests views on a draft government proposal to amend the Act on the Transport System and Highways, the Rail Transport Act and certain related acts. The aim is to improve the security and reliability of the transport network and to streamline the processes of planning and implementing the transport infrastructure.
