NATO Civil Communications Planning Group to discuss emerging and disruptive technologies in Helsinki

NATO’s Civil Communications Planning Group (CCPG) will hold a workshop in Helsinki on 5–6 June 2024. The workshop will discuss emerging and disruptive technologies. It is organised by the Finnish Ministry of Transport and Communications.

The two-day workshop will discuss how emerging and disruptive technologies, such as artificial intelligence and 5G, 6G and quantum technologies, affect the planning of communications networks. Finland’s Minister of Transport and Communications Lulu Ranne will address the workshop.

“The CCPG workshop in Helsinki highlights the cooperation between NATO members in improving connectivity. Finland has a lot to offer as we have both technological know-how and valuable experience of close public-private partnerships. For example, Finland is at the leading of edge of 6G development,” Minister Ranne says.

NATO’s Civil Communications Planning Group (CCPG) works under NATO’s Resilience Committee and provides advice on building resilience in the communications sector. Around 50 people from different countries will attend the workshop.
