The Finnish Transport and Communications Agency Traficom published a press release saying that it is safe to fly to and in Finland.   11. Act on the Finnish Broadcasting Company to be amended in line with the European Media Freedom Act and the recommendations of the parliamentary working group - Ministry of Transport and Communications

    27.6.2025 | On 27 June 2025, the President of the Republic approved amendments to the Act on the Finnish Broadcasting Company Yle. The amendments will implement the legislative changes outlined by the parliamentary working group on Yle. They also incorporate the criteria and procedures for the appointment and dismissal of the management of public service media providers required by the European Media Freedom Act (EMFA). The legislative amendments will enter into force on 8 August 2025.

  18. Steering group on fossil-free transport started its work - Ministry of Transport and Communications

    5.2.2021 | On 4 February 2021, the Ministry of Transport and Communications appointed an interministerial steering group on fossil-free transport. The steering group has representatives from the Ministry of Transport and Communications, the Ministry of Economic Affairs and Employment, the Ministry of the Environment and the Ministry of Finance. The group is tasked to promote the implementation of the Government Resolution on the reduction of greenhouse gas emissions from domestic transport.

    The Ministry of Transport and Communications requested comments on a draft government proposal for an act on location information for underground network infrastructure. The consultation period ran from 29 January to 12 March 2026. On 21 April 2026, the Ministry published a summary of the 58 comments received.
