  5. 19.12.2024 | Finland’s Central Government and other operators are applying for a total of approximately EUR 73.36 million in financial support for 11 transport projects from the Connecting Europe Facility (CEF) for Transport. In addition, EU funding is being sought for the acquisition of a new icebreaker. The Ministerial Finance Committee decided in favour of the applications on 19 December 2024.

  11. 10.4.2024 | The Trans-European Transport Network (TEN-T) is defined in the new Regulation on European Union guidelines for the development of the TEN-T network. The regulation also lays down provisions on the quality requirements for the network corridors and transport nodes. On 10 April 2024, the Ministry of Transport and Communications published maps showing Finland’s TEN-T network in accordance with the new Regulation.

  12. 12.9.2023 | EU funding for expanding the recharging network for electric cars has been granted to Tesla’s subsidiary in Finland, Roadster Finland Oy.  Funding was granted within the Transport Programme of the Connecting Europe Facility, CEF.

  16. 19.12.2023 | Representatives of the EU Member States, Parliament and Commission have reached a provisional accord on a regulation concerning Union guidelines for developing the trans-European transport network (TEN-T). The regulation will define the TEN-T network, legislating on such aspects as quality requirements for highways and transport nodes. The accord was achieved in tripartite negotiations on 18 December 2023.

  20. 18.1.2024 | Finland’s Central Government and other actors are applying for a total of approximately EUR 325.13 million in financial support for 21 transport projects from the Connecting Europe Facility (CEF) for Transport. The Central Government is applying for EUR 67.2 million in funding for 11 projects and other actors participating in state projects are applying for EUR 39.7 million.
