18.8.2023 | In July 2023, the European Union adopted the outcome of the negotiations on the Alternative Fuels Infrastructure Regulation (AFIR). In the Regulation, there is flexibility in areas that are important for Finland. It also includes an assessment of the take-up of electric and gas cars. According to the report, the targets set for 2020 have for the most part been achieved. 28.3.2023 | The EU Member States, the European Parliament and the European Commission have reached a provisional agreement on the so-called AFIR Regulation, which aims to promote the deployment of alternative fuels infrastructure in road, waterborne and air transport. The agreement was reached in trilogue negotiations on 28 March 2023.
