18.9.2023 | The State of Finland, represented by the Ministry of Transport and Communications and in cooperation with the Ministry of Finance, is starting negotiations with the current shareholders of Finnish Rail Ltd to change the purpose of the company to cover only the planning of the Airport Line. At the same time, the name of the company will be changed to Lentorata Oy. 13.12.2022 | On 13 December 2022, the Ministry of Transport and Communications published a follow-up report that assesses the networks of recharging and refuelling stations for vehicles running on electricity, gas or hydrogen. It also includes an assessment of the take-up of electric and gas cars. According to the report, the targets set for 2020 have for the most part been achieved. In the future, the Vehicles Act would only lay down provisions on the approval of equipment and new vehicles belonging to national vehicle categories and on their market surveillance. 14.7.2014 | Finnish transport projects are receiving TEN-T financial support from the EU. A total of five projects are receiving the funding. One of the Finnish projects being funded is the planning of projects for improving the transport capacity and upgrading the level of service on the Helsinki-Riihimäki section of track. About EUR 2.5 million in support is to be granted for the planning.
