Permanent Secretary Minna Kivimäki will attend the Summit of the International Transport Forum (ITF) in Leipzig, Germany, on 22 and 23 May 2024. The main theme of the summit is keeping the focus on the environment in times of crisis.

Kivimäki represents Finland at the meetings of the International Transport Forum's council of ministers. She will also participate in an open ministerial debate on cooperation to restore transport infrastructure and global connectivity.

“In the debates, Finland will emphasise how intelligent mobility and the use of technologies can increase sustainability and speed up the transition towards emission-free transport. Our goal should be a sustainable, safe and data-based transport system,” says Permanent Secretary Kivimäki.

More than 1,400 transport experts and decision-makers from over than 80 countries globally will attend the annual Summit. The event brings together transport ministers, business leaders and heads of international organisations to discuss the future of transport.

The International Transport Forum is administratively integrated with the OECD. The Forum has 66 member countries.
