The German Presidency of the Council of the European Union will hold video meetings of telecommunications and transport ministers on 7 and 8 December 2020. In the meetings, Finland will be represented by the Minister of Transport and Communications Timo Harakka.

The telecommunications ministers will hold a policy debate on the proposal for a data governance act that was published by the Commission on 25 November 2020. The act follows on from the objectives set out in the Commission's data strategy. The aim is to create an interoperable internal market for data and a common model for the management of European data space.

The transport ministers will hold a policy debate on the amendment of the Eurovignette Directive. The goal is to promote efficient and low-emission transport and safeguard sufficient funding for the maintenance and development of the transport network.

Ministers will also hold a policy debate on the Single European Sky regulation package SES2+. The Single European Sky allows more efficient use of airspace. The aims are to improve the accuracy of flight schedules, ensure more direct routes and savings in flight time and to reduce emissions from air traffic.

The meetings will be informal where no formal decisions are taken.
