The Cyber Resilience Act (CRA) was published in the Official Journal of the European Union on 20 November 2024. The CRA sets minimum cyber security requirements for products and software that can be connected to the internet or to other devices. On 28 May 2026, the Government proposed the approval of the national provisions supplementing the European Union’s Cyber Resilience Act (CRA). The legislation will enter into force on 1 June 2026, with transitional periods aligned with those of the CRA during 2026–2027. A total of approximately EUR 17.6 million in funding from the European Commission’s Connecting Europe Facility (CEF) is being sought for Finnish-led projects. In addition, approximately EUR 8.6 million in funding is being sought for Swedish-led projects that involve Finnish operators. The Ministry of Transport and Communications has launched the TUUTTI project for security and growth through communications networks. The strategy was handed over to the Nordic transport ministers in Rovaniemi where the ministers also issued a joint statement. 27.6.2025 | The President of the Republic approved the amendments to the Cybersecurity Act on 27 June 2025. They complement the national implementation of the Directive on the resilience of critical entities (CER) and the Directive on measures for a high common level of cybersecurity across the Union (NIS 2).
