Finland’s Ministry of Transport and Communications published a Joint Nordic Strategy for Transport System Preparedness on 11 March 2026. The strategy was handed over to the Nordic transport ministers in Rovaniemi where the ministers also issued a joint statement. 17.3.2025 | Finland participates in an EU project that aims to set up a European Digital Infrastructure Consortium where the focus is on mobility and logistics. The Ministry of Transport and Communications will inform Parliament about the next steps and timetable towards the Consortium with a Europe communication on 17 March 2025. 27.5.2025 | On 5 March 2025, the European Commission gave two Communications: one on an industrial action plan for the European automotive sector and one on the decarbonisation of corporate fleets. 19.12.2024 | Finland’s Central Government and other operators are applying for a total of approximately EUR 73.36 million in financial support for 11 transport projects from the Connecting Europe Facility (CEF) for Transport. In addition, EU funding is being sought for the acquisition of a new icebreaker.
