  6. 17.6.2025 | The Ministry of Transport and Communications has launched a legislative project to improve the operating conditions for the transport sector. The aim of the project is to further specify the EU regulation concerning road cabotage and make the regulations easier to comply with and supervise. In addition, the project promotes the use of vehicles powered by alternative fuels with a total mass not exceeding 4,250 kg in goods transport.

  11. 22.5.2025 | On 20 May 2025, the European Commission published a delegated regulation that creates a separate vehicle sub-group for extra-heavy combination lorries to the EU’s CO2 emission performance standards regulation for the calculation of CO2 emission targets of vehicle manufacturers. Finland was active in influencing the process in advance to define extra-heavy combination lorries (EHC).
