12.6.2025 | The Government proposed stricter legislation concerning micromobility on 12 June 2025. The amendments to the Road Traffic Act and the Vehicles Act would enter into force on 17 June 2025 and the amendments to the Act on Transport Services and the Act on the Transfer of Vehicles on 1 August 2025. 17.9.2015 | A legislative reform is to be submitted to parliament, which would allow the use of e.g. kickboards with electric engines and Segway type devices in road traffic. According to the legislation currently in place, the aforementioned vehicles can only be used in closed areas and indoors.

Swift and radical changes are needed in order to ensure that temperatures do not rise more than 1.5 °C above pre-industrial levels. The same also applies to transport. According to the proposal, the scrapping incentive could be granted to a private individual to replace an old vehicle to be scrapped with a new vehicle, an electric bicycle or a public transport ticket. EUR 8 million will be reserved for the scrapping incentive.

26.11.2020 | The Government proposes that the President of the Republic adopt the act on the passenger car scrapping premium for 2020-2021 and the act amending the act on the passenger car scrapping premium and support for acquiring electric cars and converting passenger cars to run on gas or ethanol. The date of the entry into force is proposed to be 1 December 2020. The President of the Republic is expected to approve the bill on Friday, 27 November 2020.
