Competition for EU funding has tightened – Finnish transport projects received EUR 39.11 million
Press release 16.07.2024 15.05The European Commission awarded EUR 39.11 million in funding under the Connecting Europe Facility (CEF) to 11 projects in Finland. Five central government projects received a total of EUR 20.16 million and six private sector projects a total of EUR 18.96 million in funding.

IMO Council promotes transparency of meetings and gender equality at its session

International Association of Marine Aids to Navigation and Lighthouse Authorities is changing its status to that of an international organisation

Report: Digital public services for citizens and businesses in Finland still at highest standard in the EU

Advisory Board for Network Security appointed for its third term of office
Press release 27.06.2024 14.07On 27 June 2024, the Government appointed the Advisory Board for Network Security for a new term of office. The Advisory Board aims to assess and improve national security in communications networks. The Board’s term of office is from 1 July 2024 to 31 December 2027.

Must-carry obligation for radio programmes to be removed
Press release 27.06.2024 14.00The Government proposes that the President of the Republic approve the amendments to the Act on Electronic Communication Services and that the Act enter into force on 1 July 2024. The must-carry obligation for radio programmes would be removed from the Act, the provision on the revocation of radio licences would be amended and other technical amendments would be made. After a one-year transition period, the must-carry obligation for radio would end on 1 July 2025.

Amendments to the act on purchase subsidy schemes

European positioning and high-precision timing services to enhance Finland’s security
