The Art Nouveau building that originally housed the Mortgage Society of Finland was erected in 1909. The building was designed by Lars Sonck. The building has been extended over the years and it has undergone several changes. In 1980 it was included in the list of Protected Public Buildings. The aims of the present renovation are to protect its history and preserve its original materials. The parts of the premises that have been altered over the years will undergo the most extensive renovation.
