The Government has appointed Master of Law Sami Paatero (born in 1972) as State Secretary to Minister of Transport and Local Government Paula Risikko as of 25 June 2014.
Mr Paatero leaves his tasks as Secretary General of the National Coalition Party Parliamentary Group to take up his position as Minister Risikko's State Secretary.
He has previously served as Special Adviser to the Minister of Communications (2009) and the Minister of the Interior (2007-2009). Mr Paatero has also worked at the Ministry of Transport and Communications, Ministry of Defence and the Ministry for Foreign Affairs.
