On 20 December 2010 engineer Seppo Kykkänen was appointed manager of the Saimaa Canal Administrative Committee office. He will assume his duties on 1 January 2011.
Kykkänen is transferring from his position as Canal Chief with the Finnish Transport Agency. In addition to his own posting, he has been handling the duties of Committee manager since 1 September 2010.
The Saimaa Canal Administrative Committee office is located in Lappeenranta and its purpose is to oversee Canal area administrative matters.
