New Board of Directors for the Finnish State Pilotage Enterprise

On 29 December 2009 the Government established a new Board of Directors for the Finnish State Pilotage Enterprise. The Board's term will begin on 1 January 2010 and end no later than 31 December 2012.

The Board chairman of the Finnish State Pilotage Enterprise will be Commercial Counsellor Ms Soili Suonoja, while Mr Juha Parantainen, Ministerial Adviser at the Ministry of Transport and Communications, will continue as deputy chairman.

The other Board members will be Ms Anne Kariniemi, Vice President, Logistics and Sourcing at Oriola-KD Corporation, Ms Virpi Mäkelä, Director for Business Development at Nokia Corporation, Mr Ilpo Virtanen, Development Director at Oteran Oy, and, as employee representative, Mr Hannu Lukkari, pilot at the Finnish State Pilotage Enterprise.

The Finnish State Pilotage Enterprise (Finnpilot) is an unincorporated state enterprise with the duty of providing pilotage services and using these to support and promote the safety of waterborne transport and the operating conditions for it.
