Ms Asta Sihvonen-Punkka to continue as Director-General of the Finnish Communications Regulatory Authority

On 13 August 2015, the Government appointed Ms Asta Sihvonen-Punkka, Licentiate of Science (Economics and Business Administration), as Director-General of the Finnish Communications Regulatory Authority. Her term of office will begin on 1 October 2015 and last until 30 September 2020.

Ms Sihvonen-Punkka has served as Director-General of the Finnish Communications Regulatory Authority, Ficora, since 2011.

Ficora operates under the Ministry of Transport and Communications. Its duty is to monitor and promote the Finnish communications markets and services. It also ensures that the communications connections in Finland are versatile, well-functioning and secure.
