Neelie Kroes, Vice President of the European Commission, will visit Finland on Monday, 30th of August. During her visit she will meet Suvi Lindén, Finland's Minister of Communications. In the Commission, Kroes is responsible for questions related to digital contents and services.
During their meeting, Kroes and Lindén will discuss frequency spectrum policies, promotion of broadband in Finland and the EU as well as the Commission's digital strategy, better known as the Digital Agenda.
The aim of the Digital Agenda is to promote economic growth in the EU and distribute the benefits of the digital era to all areas of society. The strategy contains approximately 100 measures, of which 31 are legislative initiatives.
