Juha Wihersaari appointed to serve as Special Adviser to Minister Ranne

Colonel (Ret.) Juha Wihersaari took up his post as Special Adviser to Minister of Transport and Communications Lulu Ranne on 1 August 2023.

His areas of responsibility include cyber security, information security and countering hybrid threats. 

Wihersaari has worked as CEO of his own intelligence and security company since 2016 and as a Doctoral Researcher at the Finnish National Defence University since 2019. 

From 1984 to 2015, Wihersaari held a variety of positions in the Defence Forces, most of which were in military intelligence. Most recently, he served as Defence Attaché to Turkey, Israel and Egypt and prior to that as Director and Deputy Director of Signals Intelligence.
