Implementation plan to promote high-speed broadband connections

The Internet of Things calls for greater network access and capacity as the devices are constantly communicating with the network and with each other. To implement the Government Programme policy lines on the Internet of Things, the Ministry of Transport and Communications has published a plan for the promotion of high-speed and secure connections.

The aim of the implementation plan is to promote a balanced co-development of fixed and wireless connections. A further aim is to facilitate the construction of fixed broadband networks and accelerate the market-based supply of the connections.

The construction of fixed networks will be made easier with a lighter permit process. The plan also takes into account the increasing need for spectrum allocated to wireless broadband.
