In line with the Programme of Prime Minister Orpo's Government, Finland's Cyber Security Strategy has been revised to respond to the changed security environment. The objectives of the revised strategy extend to 2035. A strategy implementation plan has been drawn to describe the development measures to achieve the objectives. The Marine Environment Protection Committee (MEPC) of the International Maritime Organization (IMO) will meet in London from 27 April to 1 May 2026. IMO Member States are expected to decide the next steps in negotiations on reducing greenhouse gas emissions from shipping. The Marine Environment Protection Committee (MEPC) of the International Maritime Organization (IMO) met in London on 7–11 April 2025. After challenging negotiations, the Committee’s 83rd session reached a provisional agreement on measures to reduce greenhouse gas emissions from ships. Following complex negotiations and a rare vote, the International Maritime Organization (IMO) decided to postpone the final adoption of the long-discussed regulation package on maritime transport emissions by at least one year.
