  4. 19.9.2022 | The Government proposes that the application periods should be extended for the purchase subsidies for electric and gas-fuelled vans and trucks. In contrast, the application periods would be shortened by three months for the purchase subsidy for fully electric cars, i.e. battery electric vehicles (BEVs), and the conversion subsidy for passenger cars, as the Government has not allocated an appropriation for these schemes for 2023.   11. 12.6.2025 | On 12 June 2025, the Government submitted a proposal to Parliament to amend the Rail Transport Act and the Act on Transport Services. The amendments would enhance the safety and security of urban rail transport.   18. 18.1.2024 | Finland’s Central Government and other actors are applying for a total of approximately EUR 325.13 million in financial support for 21 transport projects from the Connecting Europe Facility (CEF) for Transport. The Central Government is applying for EUR 67.2 million in funding for 11 projects and other actors participating in state projects are applying for EUR 39.7 million. In addition, private operators are applying for a total of EUR 218.22 million for 10 projects.

  19. 27.6.2024 | The Government proposes that the President of the Republic approve the amendments to the Act on Electronic Communication Services and that the Act enter into force on 1 July 2024. The must-carry obligation for radio programmes would be removed from the Act, the provision on the revocation of radio licences would be amended and other technical amendments would be made. After a one-year transition period, the must-carry obligation for radio would end on 1 July 2025.
