  2. The Marine Environment Protection Committee (MEPC) of the International Maritime Organization (IMO) will meet in London from 27 April to 1 May 2026. IMO Member States are expected to decide the next steps in negotiations on reducing greenhouse gas emissions from shipping. Other topics to be discussed include specifications to the rules on the carbon intensity and energy efficiency of vessels, the regulation of ballast water and guidance on reducing underwater noise.

  3. 13.10.2025 | To support the preparation of the project "Security and new economic growth from information networks" (TUUTTI), the Ministry of Transport and Communications invited comments on the project's key needs and themes. The consultation was open from 19 June to 31 August 2025.  On 13 October 2025, the Ministry published a summary of the 33 comments received.

  6. 27.5.2025 | On 5 March 2025, the European Commission gave two Communications: one on an industrial action plan for the European automotive sector and one on the decarbonisation of corporate fleets. The Ministry of Transport and Communications informed the Parliament of Finland of the Action Plan for the automotive industry on 9 May 2025 and of the Communication on the decarbonisation of corporate fleets on 26 May 2025.

  16. Finlands cybersäkerhetsstrategi har uppdaterats i enlighet med regeringsprogrammet för statsminister Orpos regering så att det motsvarar den förändrade verksamhetsmiljön. Visionen i den uppdaterade cybersäkerhetsstrategin sträcker sig fram till år 2035. I genomförandeplanen för strategin fastställs utvecklingsåtgärder för att uppnå målen. Genomförandeplanen godkändes den 3 december 2024 i styrgruppen för projektet för utveckling av verksamhetsmodellen för statsrådets säkerhetsledning.

  17. In line with the Programme of Prime Minister Orpo's Government, Finland's Cyber Security Strategy has been revised to respond to the changed security environment. The objectives of the revised strategy extend to 2035. A strategy implementation plan has been drawn to describe the development measures to achieve the objectives. The plan was approved on 3 December 2024 by the steering group of the project developing an operating model for government security management.
