  1. Requirement ensuring a certain proportion of low-emission vehicles in public procurement assigned to wellbeing services counties - Ministry of Transport and Communications

    16.2.2023 | On 16 February, the President of the Republic approved an amendment to the Act on Environmental and Energy Efficiency Requirements for Vehicle and Transport Service Procurements. The Act will enter into force on 20 February. With the health and social services reform, the Act will be amended so that the requirements assigned to municipalities will transfer to the wellbeing services counties, which started operating on 1 January 2023.

    2.7.2024 | The European Commission has published its annual State of the Digital Decade report, in which it assesses the progress of Member States in applying digitalisation and issues recommendations for further action. The particular strengths of Finland specified in the report are comprehensive basic digital skills and digitalisation in small and medium-sized businesses.

  5. Public consultation begins on amendments to marine environment protection conventions - Ministry of Transport and Communications

    18.9.2023 | The Ministry of Transport and Communications requests comments on the national adoption of convention amendments adopted by the Marine Environment Protection Committee (MEPC) of the International Maritime Organization (IMO). The amendments have been made to the International Convention for the Prevention of Pollution from Ships (MARPOL) and the International Convention for the Control and Management of Ships' Ballast Water and Sediments.   6. Public transport penalty fare to rise to EUR 100 in Helsinki Region Transport - Ministry of Transport and Communications

    29.11.2023 | The Ministry of Transport and Communications has amended the Decree on Penalty Fares in Public Transport. The amendment to increase the penalty fare from EUR 80 to EUR 100 in public transport provided by Helsinki Region Transport will enter into force on 1 January 2024.
